NVG Conditions Planner
Real-time and forecast night vision goggle conditions for any location. Combines moonlight, twilight, cloud cover, and urban light pollution into plain-English NVG readiness assessments. Includes a 14-day training planner and a full-screen shift briefing mode.

Conditions Map
Blended spot assessment across the UK — cloud base AGL vs operator minima, visibility, relative humidity, dew point spread, NVG millilux, and freezing level. Named locations at operationally familiar points. Hover any spot for a full factor breakdown with current and forecast values. Live METAR and TAF on hover.

NVG Fog & Haze Model
An enhancement to the NVG Conditions Planner that blends relative humidity, dew point spread, and visibility data into the millilux output. High RH scatters and attenuates ambient light significantly — this model accounts for that, giving more accurate NVG performance predictions in marginal visibility conditions.

Airfield Weather Cross-Section
A vertical atmospheric cross-section for any UK airfield — cloud layers, freezing level, wind shear zones, and icing risk displayed against altitude. Draws on pressure-level forecast data to give crews a visual slice through the atmosphere for transit and approach planning.

Built by a pilot,
for pilots

These tools were created by an independent UK operational pilot with experience in emergency services aviation. They exist because the planning tools available to night crews are often either too complex, too generic, or locked behind expensive subscriptions.

Every tool in this suite is built around a single question: what does a crew actually need to know before a night sortie? The physics and the data are handled in the background — the output is plain English and clear numbers.

This is an independent project. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or produced in connection with NPAS, HEMS, HM Coastguard, the MOD, or any other organisation.

⚠ PLANNING AID ONLY — All tools on this site provide estimates for planning purposes only. Not for use as the sole basis for operational go/no-go decisions. All operations must be conducted in accordance with your organisation’s SOPs and relevant aircrew orders.
Always Free
No paywalls, no subscriptions. These tools will remain free for emergency services and military crews.
No Data Collected
Everything runs in your browser. No personal data is stored or transmitted to this site.
Operationally Honest
Uncertainty is acknowledged. No false precision. The output is as good as the underlying models — and we tell you that clearly.
Continuously Improved
Feedback from real crews shapes every update. If something is wrong or missing, get in touch.
